Select the ‘Plain Text' option, and then open a new TextEdit file. This time, it will open a simple text editing window. The text that you type and save will be saved as a simple TXT file. 1. Open TextEdit and then open the document in TextEdit by clicking on Open in the File menu.

3. A window will pop up asking if you want to convert the document to plan text. Press OK.
